Programming Languages in Science – Antranig Basman

Now, as common at Salon des Refuses, a review of Programming Languages in Science.

Antranig want to deepen the definition of a knowledge discovery moment. These of course are messy and different. According to Kuhn there are two models: the crosswords model, where you apply a well understood solution model to a problem, but also the more messy version where you do not know what you are doing, basically 🙂

DSLs can absolutely be useful, but they very likely will lead to what Smith calls an inscription error, a reflection of what the designer of the language thinks.

Antranig recommends us two books: Computation and Human Experience and Personal Knowledge.
